Refund Policy

Overview

Scouty is a software tool that executes AI-powered compatibility analysis workflows on demand. Credits are prepaid software usage rights that are consumed when a workflow is executed. Because credits are software execution tokens — not payment for introductions, matches, or human services — our refund policy is structured accordingly.

Automatic Credit Return

A consumed credit is automatically returned to your account in the following cases:

• The counterparty declines to proceed with your workflow
• The counterparty fails to respond within 48 hours
• The counterparty is later flagged as non-responsive based on subsequent feedback

Credit returns happen automatically — no action required from you. Returned credits are valid for 90 days from the return date. Use them on any future software execution within that window.

Cash Refund Requests — Unused Credits Only

You may request a cash refund for unused purchased credits by emailing [email protected]:

• Within 7 days of purchase: a full refund of the unused credits (cancellation of purchase). If you have used some of them, the unused ones are refunded.
• After 7 days, while the credits are still valid (90 days from purchase): the value of the unused credits minus a 10% cancellation fee.
• After the credits expire: expired credits cannot be refunded. We email you about 7 days before purchased credits expire.

The value of one credit is the amount you actually paid divided by the number of credits that purchase granted; bonus search attempts and free credits are not refundable. Refunds within 7 days of purchase are processed within 3 business days of your request.

What qualifies for cash refund:

• Unused credits (not yet consumed by any software execution)
• Credits purchased in error or duplicated
• Credits purchased under misrepresentation

What does not qualify:

• Credits that have been consumed by agent conversation execution — the software function has been delivered, regardless of the outcome of any subsequent user interaction
• Credits received as free bonuses (welcome, referral, promotional)

Refunds are processed to the original payment method. Processing time depends on your payment provider and is typically completed within 5-10 business days.

Software Failure Refund

If the Software fails to execute due to our system error (e.g., agent conversations cannot initiate, report generation fails, technical issues prevent workflow completion), a full refund will be issued regardless of time elapsed. Contact [email protected] with details.

Merchant of Record

Payments are processed differently based on your location:

• International (USD) payments: Polar.sh acts as our Merchant of Record. Refunds are processed through Polar's refund system in accordance with this policy and Polar's terms.
• Korean Won (KRW) payments: A licensed Korean Payment Gateway processes payments on Scouty's behalf. Refunds are processed through the relevant PG's system. Scouty handles Korean tax obligations directly as a registered Korean business.
